I am a CIMA qualified accountant with over 20 years’ experience working within
large/medium companies as well as SMEs. I have gained valuable experience in a diverse range of industries including engineering, transport, wholesale, waste and most recently renewable energy and construction.
I have worked in all areas of finance where I have built up a great knowledge and understanding of each accounting function of a business.
I started my working life in purchase ledger and credit control for a local manufacturing company based in Brislington. Back then I ran a manual cashbook and paid everyone by cheque! Moving on, my last role was with a start-up renewable energy company, which I set up from scratch, putting in place controls and procedures. I also recruited and managed a team of six.
Having gained vast experience and knowledge over the years working with very large to very small business I feel the time is right to use these skills to help small business to grow. I have experience of starting a business from day one, setting up systems and procedures which in turn grew with the business. I feel my skills will help SMEs by providing them with the information, guidance and support they need to survive and increase profit/cash.
When I'm not number crunching I enjoy gardening - I have an allotment where I grow enough fruit and veg to keep us going for most of the year. I also keep chickens.
